Codorníu-Raventos

The Codorníu family has been making wine since the 16th century. When Anna de Codorníu married Miquel Raventós, their union signified an important moment in the history of wine, both in Spain and worldwide. The family has been producing cava (traditional method sparkling wines) in Penedés, the traditional home of Spanish sparkling wine since Josep Raventós created the cava style in the 1800s. Since that time, the winery has become one of Spain’s preeminent cava houses. Branching out from their success, the Codorníu group has acquired a number of other famous and exciting wine and spirit brands in Spain and around the world. Their American arm carries the torch for the Codorníu and Raventós families, representing such brands as Artesa winery in Carneros and Bodega Séptima in Argentina along with their superb traditional Spanish wine holdings from such regions as Rioja, Priorat, Rias Baixas, Ribera del Duero, and Rueda.
